Installing and Updating Unifi Controller on Raspberry Pi (links) + how to repair database
I’m trying to use this blog for a purpose, and that’s as an aggregate for all of the various home automation, homelab, etc projects I’ve got on the go, and attempt to help others as needed, rather than keep all of this in various bookmarks, txt files, etc.
Because I can never remember how to update my Unifi controller that I setup on a Raspberry Pi 3B, here’s a couple of links to the ubiquiti forum tutorial I followed (it’s the same thread, and they’re consecutive posts, but oh well)

Repairing unifi controller database
I ran into some issues recently with creating manual backups (and noticed as well that my scheduled backups were being created either). I followed these instructions:
but with sudo in front of every command and it seems to have resolved my issues.
Checking for latest version of unifi controller
I’m sure there’s a better way to do this, and if you’re paying attention to the notification when you log into the controller you’ll already know the version that’s available to upgrade to, but in case you’ve disabled the notifications, or dismissed the current one, here’s a link to check on version history:
